The Story Behind Kweli

Hi, I am Zameena (She/Her)

I have always been the person who rolls up her sleeves, asks tough but thoughtful questions, and finds creative ways to move forward, even when resources are limited. I thrive in untangling complexity, whether it is navigating a project stuck in limbo or launching something brand new. Working with organizations of all sizes, I realized I wanted the freedom to tailor solutions beyond the constraints of traditional structures. That is why I created Kweli Advisory Services: to offer a flexible, strategic approach that truly meets each organization’s needs.

My work has been shaped by the incredible people I have met along the way. Growing up in Kenya with Afro-Indian heritage, I was immersed in diverse cultures and perspectives, giving me an early understanding of systems, their impact, and the need for creative solutions. I love working with multi-generational teams and facilitating spaces where people with different perspectives can come together to drive meaningful change.

Working in Canada and with global clients, I refined my expertise in communications, policy, and stakeholder engagement, always with a focus on turning complexity into clarity. As a global citizen who loves to travel, I find joy in both personal and virtual collaboration. Whether leading in-person strategy sessions or facilitating seamless virtual engagements, I adapt to the needs of my clients across multiple countries.

The name Kweli, meaning “truth” or “real” in Swahili, reflects my approach to this work. Real conversations, real solutions, real impact. Whether I am helping an organization define its vision, build a project plan, strengthen its team, navigate change, or tell its story in a way that truly connects, I focus on solutions that are practical, actionable, and built to last.

The Kweli logo is inspired by geometric African design, with patterns that represent structure, balance, and interconnectedness. The colors and form, shaped as a compass, symbolize guidance, clarity, and the importance of navigating complexity with purpose. Just as a compass helps travelers find their way, Kweli exists to help organizations and leaders chart a course forward—grounded in truth, strategy, and impact.
